Birthday Celebrations:
Unfortunately we cannot have birthday parties for each child during the school year. Due to food guidelines parents cannot bring any treats to school. We ask that instead of sending in a food treat, that you donate a book or game to the classroom. You could also send in a pencil or other small goody bag type item for each student in the class. On the day of your child's birthday (or on Monday if it is a weekend) your child's name will be called on the morning announcements. They are invited to go to the office to get a birthday pencil. We thank you for adhering to these guidelines!
Class Parties:
Howard County policy has a lot of restrictions for food allowed in school. This year we are trying some non-food celebrations.
The Fall Fun Party is close to October 31. We get to wear costumes!
The Winter Celebration is the day before Winter Break. We do a craft!
The Valentines Day Celebration is as close to Valentines Day as possible. Students pass out their valentines.
The End of Year Celebration will occur on one of the half days at the end of the year. We invite students to bring a picnic lunch for school!
About a week before each celebration we may ask parents to donate money (usually $2 or $3) to fund crafts or special activities.
